My Journey to Wedding Planning

Bella Olah Weddings was born in 2013 out of a passion for helping couples mold their dreams into reality. Since inception, I’ve committed myself to creating stunning, impactful and creative experiences for my couples and their guests, no matter the size of the event.

Based in Harrogate, Yorkshire, I began Bella Olah Weddings to bring a fresh, creative and friendly approach to planning life’s most important celebrations.

My background in design and event management allows me to blend creative luxury wedding planning with meticulous attention to detail. Every couple has a different vision — and my role as your personalised wedding planning consultant is to make that vision come to life seamlessly, so you can enjoy the journey as much as the day itself.

Why I love wedding planning

I love wedding planning because it’s where creativity and organisation come together in the most beautiful way. I find joy in bringing ideas to life — weaving together colours, textures, emotions, and stories — while keeping every detail perfectly in order. There’s something deeply fulfilling about crafting a celebration that feels effortless, yet reflects the essence of two people in love.

But what truly makes my heart full are the relationships I build with my couples. I don’t see my role as just a planner; I become a friend and confidant, someone who listens, dreams, and celebrates alongside you. That connection is the heart of every wedding I design.

For me, this work feels like play — a return to that childlike joy where imagination has no limits. After years in the corporate world, working for one of the Big Four firms managing multimillion-pound portfolios and advising on innovation, business strategy, and events, I now find fulfilment in creating something more personal and meaningful. With that experience behind me, my couples can feel at ease knowing their wedding is not only crafted with passion and artistry, but also guided by precision, expertise, and care.

Some fun facts about me...

A little peek behind the planner’s notebook — here are a few things that make me me:

✨ Languages are my love language. I speak Spanish, French, and Hungarian, and I’m currently learning Italian — so helping plan your wedding abroad feels perfectly natural. (I also studied German, Russian, and Chinese along the way — I’ve always been fascinated by how language connects people and cultures.)

☕ I’m a coffee and hot chocolate devotee. You can often find me at Bettys in Harrogate, sipping their famously rich hot chocolate — it’s truly the best — and jotting down wedding ideas in my notebook.

⛸️ Before wedding planning, there was figure skating. I spent years on the ice as professional figure skater, where I learned the grace, discipline, and creativity that now inspire my work today.

⚡ A true Harry Potter fan. The books and films have always been close to my heart — so much so that our own wedding at Swinton Estate in Yorkshire had a subtle Harry Potter theme! This photo of me and my husband, captured beautifully by Rob Carter Photography, is one of my favourites.
